The NEW ICELAND HERITAGE MUSEUM would like to pay tribute to Stefan J. Stefanson.

1915 - 2008
In 1971, the Icelandic Cultural Corporation was formed to set up a museum in Gimli.
In 1974, the museum opened at the harbourfront. Stefan was President of ICC during these years.
In 1995, the ICC began planning a move to the Waterfront Centre on lst Avenue.
The New Iceland Heritage Museum. opened in 2000. Since 1971, Stefan has worked continuously for the museum.
In 2008, Stefan died, but he is still supporting NIHM. This quote is from his obituary.
